The Short Rant: Where is the library etiquette?

I am a second floor library individual. I like to sit in the same seat every time I go. It has a nice view of George Square and I would argue it is very conveniently located. However, recently, the library experience has been reduced by people eating noisy and smelly food.

A few recent examples include: eating a steak and onion pasty, a tuna sandwich and a recent and reoccurring incident of someone eating (and snapping) crackers.

Please, please, please for the love of God stop doing it. I ask so politely that you head down to the café and eat there. I have to state that this is just against noisy and smelly food. If you wish to eat a clementine quietly than go for it, but the same cannot be said for an apple.

While this is about the noise, the smell of a food is also really important. When the individual ate a tuna sandwich within two rows of me I had to step outside for air. The library is a warm building and combining this with smelling food is not a positive for my academia.

All I politely ask is that some, select individuals stop eating noisy and smelly food.
